Learning and support

Learning

Our students are encouraged to become active participants in their learning as part of our explicit teaching approach. In addition to our core learning program, all students access our specialist learning programs in music, physical education and digital technologies.

Wellbeing

The calm and productive Ben Venue learning environment is the result of a considered approach to student wellbeing and the respectful relationships formed between our staff and students. A focus on contextual wellbeing and the connection of our student is the foundation of our work with students. Our evidence-based, trauma-informed wellbeing approach includes the use of PAX and Berry Street strategies.

Additional learning support

Academic growth is support both for students working towards anticipated outcomes and for students working beyond their year level. This is provided through literacy and numeracy learning intervention programs, as well as extension opportunities in literacy, debating, public speaking, numeracy, music, dance, drama and sport.
