School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.

Creative Art Showcase
Each year, we celebrate the talents of our performing artists with our Creative Arts Showcase.
Sports carnivals
Students in Years 1 and 2 enjoy athletics and cross country carnivals, while Year 3-6 students compete in athletics, cross country and swimming.
Celebration of Learning
Celebration of Learning Assemblies are held in conjunction with open classrooms during Education Week and at the end of Term 4.
NAIDOC Week
We celebrate all Aboriginal cultures represented in our school.
Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre excursions
All classes benefit from annual excursions to the Thalgarrah Environmental Education Centre, supporting class learning programs.
Multicultural Food Fair
Our Multicultural Food Fair is a joyous celebration of the cultural diversity of our community and a great opportunity to connect over a beautiful meal and entertainment.
Book Week
Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week, including our Book Parade and have the opportunity to purchase books through our Book Fair.
Stage 3 Camp
The annual Stage 3 is regularly sited as the highlight of graduating students' time at Ben Venue Public School. Students travel to Canberra to learn more about our nation's democracy and history in even years, and push the limits of their comfort zone at visit the Great Aussie Bush Camp on odd years.
Opera House Choir
Year 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to join the Opera House Choir. This group enjoys the truly special experience of performing at the Sydney Opera House.
Staff vs student sport
The fierce but friendly rivalry between our staff and students ensures an enjoyable spectacle at the staff vs student game at the end of each term.
Student leadership camp
Our inclusive leadership structure provides access to leadership learning and opportunities to any Year 6 students who demonstrate the requisite behaviours.
Hat Parade
Our Hat Parade is one of the most popular annual events with students and families.
An Evening with ACoS
The biennial Evening with the Armidale Community of Schools is a celebration of the creative and performing arts across all public schools in Armidale.
Bike Bus
Supporting active lifestyles and a strong sense of community, our Ben Venue Bike Bus welcomes students and parents who wish to ride to and from school twice a week through the warmer months.
