Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome from our principal

Welcome to Ben Venue Public School. At Ben Venue we take pride in our history of excellence in the provision of a rounded education, but equally, in our focus on ongoing improvement in the service we provide to our students and families.

As the largest primary school in Armidale, educating between 500 and 530 students each year, our size allows us to deliver a range of curricular and co-curricular opportunities for our students. Every student benefits from weekly lessons with our specialist music, computing, physical education and library teachers. Our students also benefit from opportunities such as involvement in numerous sporting teams, a range of academic teams, a rich performing arts program, an inclusive leadership structure and Student Representative Council.

While the size of our school facilitates these opportunities, we also maintain a positive and welcoming environment in which students feel connected to their teachers and peers. Ben Venue maintains high expectations of engagement in learning, behaviour and citizenship, supporting these expectations with a focus on explicit teaching, contextual wellbeing and opportunities for all students. Alongside respectful relationships between staff and students, our evidence-based wellbeing programs underlie the calm and productive learning environment visitors regularly comment on when visiting our school.

I feel privileged to lead Ben Venue Public School and am grateful for the education my two children have received, having attended our school from Kindergarten to Year 6. I understand the importance of making the right choice for your child’s primary education. This is why I take pleasure in personally meeting all families seeking enrolment at Ben Venue. I welcome you to explore our website. Should you wish to discuss enrolling your child, please contact our office to arrange a meeting with me.
